Reasons Why I Love Road Trips

Hi everyone!

I’m buzzing because my family and I are going on a road trip this Saturday, 20th of April. We’re going to Cappadocia, a semi-arid region in central Turkey is known for its distinctive “fairy chimneys,” tall, cone-shaped rock formations clustered in Monks Valley. I’m so glad that Cappadocia became renowned all around the world and selected as a must-visit touristic area. A lot of people from all around the world come to Cappadocia to see the fairy chimneys and also visit authentic hotels to experience cave living in the 21st century.

Cappadocia is like landing on another planet.

Here are the reasons why I love road trips…

1) Time to clear mind

We all have hectic lives whether we go to school everyday or have a 9-5 job on weekdays. Everyone tries their bests to reach their goals and live a good life they want. Personally, I’m an ambitious person and I’m always trying my best in every situation. Especially in academics but my perfectionist personality shows itself in my relationships as well. Sometimes we have to wind down and listen to ourselves. I believe road trips makes us realise that we need to stop the rush and relax a bit. Listening to your favourite band/singer’s album or a podcast may be a good idea to chill. By the way, I’ve been listening to different podcasts for a while now. Should I write a blog post about my favourite ones? They’re so inspiring and I always learn different kind of stuff from every episode.

2) The Conversations

When I’m inside a car for several hours, catching up with friends and family members is the best thing to enjoy the trip. I love having wonderful conversations with loved ones. When I was a child, my parents, my sister and I would always play games. My favourite game was finding a word, which starts with the letter of the previous one’s last letter. I believe talking with the ones you’re going on a road trip is important because we’re not always finding enough time to spend time with loved ones and talk with them about our struggles and etc.

3) Enjoying the Journey, not only the Destination

Many of us just focus on the destination that we’re heading to, but there are so many landscapes and beautiful sights on the road. Instead of sleeping for hours, you can enjoy the view and discover interesting places/things. Personally, I love watching mountains, valleys and lakes when we’re on the road. Seeing new places and landscapes might improve your creativity and affect your mood in a positive way.

These are the reasons why I enjoy road trips. Traveling is a passion of mine, therefore I love discovering new destinations when I go on a trip. I hope you’ll have a chance to visit all of the places you want to go. In 2 days I’ll be on the road to Cappadocia. If you’re interested in seeing that interesting landscape, you should follow me on Instagram. It’s @sima.aykin! I can’t wait to write a blog post about Cappadocia and places around.

Stay tuned!
